Handmade Holiday Greetings / Ornaments that Benefit Charity - 2010 Edition



This year consider creating a more meaningful holiday season by with cards and ornaments that give back to non-profit organizations.

The painting of this cheerful ornament was done at the Haven Day Center, a ministry to individuals with developmental disabilities which provides a safe place for day activities. As the puzzle piece is a symbol for autism, this would be a thoughtful gift to the caregiver or parent of an autistic child. $1 of every wreath ornament sold is donated to The Autism Solution Center, Inc., which provides families in need with free Autism treatment, education, and assistance.

Linda at "Nun of a Kind" created “Janet’s Snowfolk”…to help raise money towards a cure for breast cancer. All proceeds from the sale of these ornaments are donated to “The Breast Cancer Society of Canada” (http://www.bcsc.ca/) in memory of a dear friend. "Janet was a wonderful, warm person whose battle with breast cancer, the cancer that was discovered too late to be able to treat successfully, took her life. She would be the first to remind women to not forget to take care of themselves, were she here to advise us." The ornaments, strung with invisible thread for hanging, are individually packaged in cellophane.
